Big news! Well, big blog news. I’m preparing for a major redesign and “rethinking” of my blog. I’m ready to leave WordPress.com and gain more control over the functions around here.
On one hand this terrifies me because I’m obviously considering myself a “real blogger” by making the decision to spend money on it. I am hiring someone to help me with the redesign and the transfer from wp.com. I’m not a tech-orientated person. And frankly, the money I would have to spend on childcare to get that all done myself would far surpass what I’m paying someone directly to get the work done. And it will look SO much better. I have no visual talents. I’m good with words, but not pictures. I cannot even write my name in bubble letters.
Putting the “fear” of moving more seriously into blogging aside, I’m so excited to have a look, feel, and purpose that is all MINE. Having a self-hosted blog leaves open the possibility to make a little change from what I do here IF I ever choose to go that route. (The jury is still out on whether I’ll go in that direction.) In my current platform (wordpress.com) advertisements are not allowed, nor is Google Analytics. I’ve learned so much about blogging using wp.com though, and I highly recommend it as the place to start for new bloggers.
Okay, so the part where I need your advice. I’m looking at both bloggers and NON bloggers here.
Bloggers:
- If you were starting from scratch, what would be on your wish list for a new blog?
- If you have made the move from wp.com, what do you wish you knew or had done differently?
- If you have ads on your blog or do sponsored posts, anything you wish you knew at first that you know now?
For my readers:
- What keeps you coming back here?
- What would you like to see more of?
- What would you like to see less of?
- (Feel free to answer via email if you don’t want to answer publicly. ninabadzinblog@gmail.com)
Thank you so much in advance for your two cents! I’m happy to return the favor in any way I can.

Welcome! I am a freelance writer living in Minneapolis with my husband and four children. My essays on parenting, social media etiquette, improving my habits, Jewish life and more appear in the Huffington Post, Kveller.com, The Jewish Daily Forward and elsewhere. I'm glad you found your way here!

No matter what your final self-hosted site would look like, please… Maintain the straight-forward and honest approach on things you write about. Those are just some of the things that make your readers re-visit your blog. They’re actually my reasons for paying this site a visit whenever I’d have time to browse online.
On the other hand, I am very sorry that I won’t be able to share anything with you, with regards to wordpress. To be honest, I started my blogging passion in blogger/blogspot and I am kinda new here in wordpress. But all I know is this blog platform that you are in is highly-recommended by web experts for website creation and development as well.
Am happy to hear that you’re giving your blog your own branding, finally! Give me a buzz if everything’s done so I can be one of your first visitors.
More power Nina! Take care.
Thank you so much! I’m going to stay with WordPress, but through their paid version, which offers more bells and whistles. I still think the free verso is a great place to begin and learn about the process. I guess I’m just ready for that next stop.
I appreciate it immensely that you visit me here. I’ll make sure you know about the switch!
Have a check with Normandie Fischer (Writing on Board), as she has just made the move from wp.com to wp.org and I think she is having some trouble with it. In fact, her site is just crashing or not available at the moment, possibly because of the transition.
Oy! Thank you. Will do.
I did not know that WordPress doesn’t allow ads or Google Analytics. I’m perfectly happy with Blogger and could monetize if I wanted to, but I know Blogger is kind of declasse. Just don’t get one of those weird ones that won’t let people comment unless we subscribe–or makes us jump through hoops to prove we’re special enough to comment. Doesn’t Jane Friedman have ads? She’s on WordPress. Is there a premium WordPress blog you could get that would allow ads? It would save the hassle of changing your address and losing all your followers.
Actually, your blog is “branded” now in a general sense. Nathan Bransford has a plain old Blogger blog and he’s certainly a recognizable “brand.”
I do hope you’ll keep your down to earth voice! And no flashy animation. Blogs that that take too long to load can be annoying..
Anne, you know you are my number one blog mentor. I would NEVER make it hard to comment. For shame! The comment system on wp.com is the main reason I’m leaving. They’ve made it too annoying. You know I can’t stand anything annoying for too long. Jane’s blog is on wp.org. Many templates on the .org side look just like the .com ones. There ARE some ads on wp.com blogs, but they are placed their by wp.com and only wp.com gets the revenue. I might never put ads up at all, but I’d like to have that option, even if it’s just from clicks to Amazon–(of which I have many on this blog).
Also, I bought the domain ninabadzin.com in nov ’10 when I started the blog. I thought I’d self-host back then but I chickened out. So I think my address will stay the same. I hope . . .
And that you would even SUGGEST I’d consider things that flash, make noise, or whatever. Insulted.
And thank you re: my voice. It’s kind of all I have (in terms of the writing world!)
Now it all makes sense. WP has indeed made comments really difficult recently. I didn’t know there was a difference with WP.org. Blogger is making things miserable for bloggers with their new interface, so I understand why you’re off to new territory. It seems to be the rule with tech that “if it works, break it.” I do know you’re the last person to make things hard for commenters. I was just doing some tongue-in-cheek venting.
I have a friend working on a new design for me on a self-hosted blog. I think she’s using WordPress.org. I agree, getting started on WordPress.com is a good way to go. I’ve learned so much from using it. And I’m nervous, too, about making the change!
As I’ve commented before, I like your straightforward design. I like the way you can see a bunch of different posts on the home page–it makes so much sense. It looks like the blog of someone serious about writing. You could polish up your header, but other than that, yours is one of the best laid out blogs I read.
However it is that you manage to do it, I’d hope you would continue to write posts that get some conversation going. You’ve got a knack for it. I also appreciate when you have guest posts as I’ve found blogs I like that I wouldn’t otherwise know about.
I LOVED the post by your Mom! One of the things I love is that you’re not predictable. I never know WHAT you will be writing about. Could be writing, hobbies, tradition, lululemon. . .
One of the most fascinating things to me about your blog, to be honest, is how (for the most part) you don’t write about your family. You have a strong clear voice, a point of view, and you’re not quite a “mommyblogger”, though you’re a Mommy who blogs. More importantly, you’re a Mom who writes. Like when you had a baby and you just kept on blogging about other things. I was riveted. I’m not really being clear, am I? This is all positive. I LIKE this about your blog. It’s funny because, of course, I mostly only write about my family. But I like that yours has a professional vibe.
For what it’s worth.
Thank you! What an awesome comment. I’m smiling! How great that we’re making the leap at the same time. I imagine my move won’t be ready for over a month or more, which will give me time to give it tons of thought. I actually like my current wp.com design too, and I agree about the header. I plan to keep things simple when I move. I cannot stand tons of junk on sidebars and all that.
As for the kids, I write about them from time to time, but for sure more in the general sense in terms of parenting. I guess as my son approaches 8, I’m starting to see how quickly they change and grow and maybe would object at some point to too much info about them being shared publicly. He already knows how to Google his name! That said, I DO write about them and don’t foresee NOT writing about them.
Thanks again for your two cents!
Good for you! WordPress.com is going downhill. I have zero tech ability and really don’t know much about what is even available to alter as far as a blog layout. I just really enjoying your writing no matter what it’s about. So this is not a super helpful comment but good luck on the transition and that’s exciting!
Totally going downhill. The constant changing to the commenting system was what sent me over the edge. I AM grateful for what I learned here though. I know how to mess around with templates, work with widgets, add photos, etc. I do NOT know how to play with fonts though or anything that requires coding. (just the word coding sends shivers down my spine.)
I enjoy everything you write about too and will follow you anywhere if you ever switch.
Wow, exciting stuff! I moved from Webs (ick) to WordPress.org (self-hosted) a while back, and it’s one of the best decisions I ever made. It makes all the difference being able to tweak code, use outside plug-ins, and (eventually) have ads if I want. The things that keep me coming back are you and your content, so I feel confident that however you design your website will be just fine. So I support the decision and wish you the best of luck!
I remember when you switched. So glad to hear it’s worked out. I’m excited about different plug-in options and all that. You’ll have to tell me your favorites!
Okay so the embarrassing thing is I don’t know know if I am self-hosted or not … I use wordpress, but I also use google analytics so I think I’m self-hosted? Maybe? How pathetic that I don’t know. I find your site clean and easy to navigate and completely agree with Erin that the conversation that happens here is rich and keeps me coming back. I tend to like clean and uncluttered design which you have in spades here. I don’t know if there are specific things I wish I had that I don’t on my blog (I know, astonishingly helpful – I’m sorry!) … but I can’t wait to see what you do here!! xo
You’re self-hosted.
I love that you didn’t know that. You must have a good techie person who helps you. And you know what–thank goodness for that! I wish I had someone around who could do that!!
Thanks for the compliment, Lindsey. I feel the same about your content!
I get your blog updates in my e-mail, so if that would still be possible then I would recommend having the ability to “follow” you by e-mail. I don’t always have time to surf the web, but I can keep your posts in my inbox for as long as I need to until I have time to read it! That’s my only advice, though. I’m not a blogger, so I don’t know much about this stuff. You’ve got great content and I always enjoy seeing your blog in my inbox, that’s all I need to know! haha
Thank you–that is such a good point about email subscriptions. I would absolutely not have a new blog without that. I’m so honored you like receiving my posts by email. I know we are all protective of our inboxes! And seriously, I have to tell you that I’m especially pleased to hear when a non-blogger reads my stuff. The blogging world can get pretty small–too small.
Thank you again for taking the time to let me know your thoughts.
As long as you keep writing…
that’s all that matters to me.
I’m very envious — I would love to do what you’re about to do (it’s not the right time for me, but I know I will make a similar move at some point in the future)…. that said, what would I do if I were starting all over? Your blog looks great… for me, the blogs I like most have a very clean, uncluttered look with emphasis on content and obvious straightforward navigation. Also, I love it when there are multiple ways to contact (as you have) as well as multiple avenues for interaction with the blogger/content owner. Nothing I hate more than going to a blog and having no idea who it belongs to and/or no idea how to comment/find more info — but then yours already has these features… so I’m just looking forward to seeing what you end up with!
Thank you, Julia. Like your blog, my by blog is for sure more content focuses as opposed to anything too visual. That will stay the same. We ARE writers, after all.
I’ll let you know how it goes then walk you through it should you ever decide to switch.
I love your blog! I love the easy to read format and the font, some blogs are just hard to read visually, yours is very appealing. xoxo
Thank you, Jenni!
I’m on blogger and I know it’s limited, AND I also know my blog doesn’t have any artsy feel to it…but I am a writer and not an artist, and I don’t want to spend time or money on it. I guess whoever reads me is doing so for content only
I tried monetizing for like 2 minutes but stopped quickly when I realized the google ads (that I have very little control over) often were off as far as my brand or even offensive religiously to me. I’ll stop there.
Personally, I love when you blog about Jewish content, because that’s my passion. I’m not so into mom blogs, but when you mom-blog in a Jewish context, that’s interesting to me too. I also like when you blog about your struggles as a writer because this is sort of a new passion for me.
Ruchi,
I’m so pleased to hear you’re embracing your writer identity. You are such a natural. I’m often envious (in a healthy, supportive way) of your posts. Really. You always seem to be able to just say it like it is without being offensive or polarizing. I applaud your bravery in terms of topic choices. One hand I’d like my blog to be at niche as yours, but I can’t commit to one topic! For you, Judaism is a natural one. And you’re lucky because that umbrella topic allows you to dip others like parenting, for example, but always through a Jewish lens. It works beautifully.
I’m really unsure on the monetizing part, but I’d at least like the option.
Thanks for stopping by and answering my questions!
Well, thank you for your kind words
Actually, I kind of love that your niche is YOU. And that there’s always something interesting and unpredictable in the wings. I thought that was unique when I first got into the blogosphere.
I feel the same way about the free wp lately but I don’t hate it enough that I’m willing to make the move – so I’ll be watching (and commenting) closely on your transition. Plus, anytime I plunk down money for anything, I tend to get overly obsessed with unit costs, e.g., paying a monthly fee at my gym and if I only go once, I think, “Man! This was a $30 visit to the gym!!!” So at my current rate of posting, I think the unit cost would be rather high.
If I were starting from scratch, I’d want:
- A layout I’m completely satisfied with: some minor tinkering/tweaking is fine, but I changed themes so many times. As others have already commented, I like your layout.
- A comment system that makes it easy for readers/visitors to add to the conversation: having read your blog from the earlier days, I love how your posts have morphed from mostly your voice/opinions/thoughts and readers agreeing (e.g., “Good post! I totally agree!”) to a full-on conversation with twists and turns. After reading the comments on some blogs or other sites, I usually leave with the thought of, “I cannot unread what I’ve just read…” Your blog comments make the original post that much better – a testament to the readers you attract. Hopefully, your new system will make this better by allowing others to add their $0.02.
Good luck!!!
This made me laugh–I can be the same way about the per unit thing. I’m definitely that way about my babysitter time! So if I spend too much time on Facebook or anything too frivolous I’m constantly adding a per/hour cost to that activity.
I appreciate what you had to say about the comments here. I think I have the best readers and I just hope they follow me in the next version. I’m pretty sure the address will be the same . . . I’ll just have to transfer the domain name, which I own, I think. See, now I’m getting a stomachache just thinking about those details.
You were one of my first blogging teachers by the way. remember?
It is your content that is so strong, Nina, and I imagine you wouldn’t let yourself get distracted by too much fluff! I personally avoid blogs that feel too “commercial” ie a very busy page, lots of ads. It’s not like I make a conscious choice or anything, it’s just that my eyes get too over whelmed and distracted by all the other junk on the page and I quickly move on. All that being said, I feel your excitement and know you’ll have fun in this next stage! XO
Thank you, Kasey. And I’m with YOU. Can’t stand anything that flashes, etc. And I don’t like clutter (in my house or on my webpage.)
I like the clean layout of your blog now. As time passes, we all tend to get more cluttered. I’m still on Blogger and can’t help on the wp questions. I’m currently taking graphic design classes. Website design classes begin in August. I’ll let you know how that goes. One design feature I appreciate as a commenter is the option to subscribe to a reply and only receive the reply to my comment. I wish I knew what to call that function. I see it on WP blogs. Have you read the http://digitalmomhandbook.com/? It’s an interesting read about sponsored posts, etc. I checked it out of the library. Lots of interesting tips and ideas to think about when blogging. I don’t get too freaked out by ads or sponsored posts, unless that is all the content.
Content and voice keep me coming back.
Good luck with all the changes.
Wait to go in your graphic design classes.
Let us know when you’re going to start your freelance design work.
I will for sure check that out, Stacy. Thank you! I don’t foresee doing sponsored posts, but I guess I should never say NEVER. As for clutter, it’s my enemy–in real life and in virtual life. I’ve never put a badge or an award on my blog or any of that. Never been a fan.
Way (sorry for the wrong word) to go in your graphics design classes.
Let us know when you’re going to start your freelance design work.
I read because you’re good! I’m very excited you’re taking the next step in becoming a professional blogger!
As far as design, I like WordPress blogs because they are so clean looking. I think it adds to the professional perception of the writer. I think a blog should be an extension of the writer, so I am sure whatever you choose to do will be very classy and very you!
Oh, thank you so much for that Lara. You’ve always been really kind about my blog. I appreciate it! I feel like I haven “seen you” in a while. Off to visit now.
Oh wait! Yes I have.
Yes, you have! And thanks so much for doing so!
Oh this is easy. I come back for you! I love your writing style, your wit, and your topics. Even the ones that are writer specific I feel like I can relate to one some obscure level. The number one reason I come back is that you respond to comments and interact with your readers. Hands down that is the best part of your blog.
Honestly I would love more frequent blog posts, maybe twice a week. Because I’m nosey and I’d be interested in a series about how you’ve gotten to where you are now. I know you’ve thrown snippets of that into other posts but I’d like to learn more. That way in the future when we do meet in person we really will be like besties LOL. Also more detailed book reviews, althought I seem to remember you saying you didn’t like to do those, but I could be wrong. Ohh maybe a seperate book discussion page, where people who have read the same book can leave comments about it. Sort of like a mini-online-book-club.
Oh my goodness-this post was worth putting out in the world even if just for your idea about the discussion for the books. And THAT is why I’ve hired an actual web designer. I bet she can help me figure that out. It’s SUCH a GREAT idea. Thank you so much, Tanya.
Interesting point re: more frequent posts. Sometimes i do want to post more than once a week, but I’m UBER-sensitive to asking too much of people, overly promoting my posts on twitter or anywhere, and just being an annoying presence instead of an interesting one. You know what I mean? It’s a fine line.
I hear you on wanting to know more . . . I’ve been told before by different people that I seem to hold back. Im actually not doing that consciously, except maybe when it comes to too much about the kids, which I do purposely keep on the surface side. I DO, however, have a post about my son’s piano recital coming up in a few weeks though. And it’s personal for sure! (Spoiler alert: recital didn’t exactly go well.)
Now I’m really obsessed with the book discussion thing and have to give it more thought. Excited!
Nina, congratulations! Renee (Lessons from Teachers and Twits) just mentioned this post on my blog, before I had the chance to get over here! Boy can I relate to how tough it is making these calls. I would definitely want to hire a web designer, too, so I think that’s awesome. And you’ll have peace of mind knowing you can do whatever you want. I think my biggest concern would be in the ‘transferring’ of followers, since the WordPress ‘follow’ feature wouldn’t be an option, but I think it’s one of those risks that has to be taken to go to the next step.Hmm, on that note, I guess the number one thing that turns me off on first glance is a tacky background, LOL It needs to be white or at least easy to read. (If you think about it, not a lot of successful websites have anything but a white background and gray or black text!) I also like an eye-catching, professional-looking header and an easy way to follow/subscribe. I appreciate a good About page, or a little ‘About me’ type widget (I sohuld probably heed my own advice on that last one)! Okay. I’ll be quiet now. You know I’ll follow you wherever you go
Thank you Julie! I’m going to continue this particular thread on YOUR blog.
Nina, your comment section is a wealth of information. Gotta love Anne Allen
I’ve been toying with the idea of taking more control … I have but one reservation … I can buy a domain name from WP and they will host my site. I can do the same with godaddy where I currently have my two old domain names.
However, if you move from WP what happens to your archives? Do the posts that have been done here follow you or will they be lost? It took a long time for you to establish your position (and a great one I might add) in this cyber world … so will all the post you have done here be sucked into a black whole in cyber space?
Thanks for all the love, humor and wealth of info you bring to your readers
Who doesn’t love Anne?
Okay, so the main reason I’m hiring a designer (aside from my crappy visual skills) is that she will do the transfer for me. All my posts will be part of my new blog. My address should I also stay the same, though I imagine I’ll have to pay wp.com some sort of small fee for that. See, nothing is ever really “free.”
I don’t think my readers will have a different experience on my blog aside from a new header a slightly different layout. And, hopefully, a better comment system!
Thank you for those compliments too by the way!
Your words keep me coming back, so the setting is less important than the content. I do get overwhelmed by blogs with very busy surroundings though; lots of ads and flashing ‘click on me’ buttons. Some get to the point where the sheer volume of ‘busy’ overwhelms the content.
Lisa, that’s something I have to keep remembering as I get further and further into what I want the site to look like. I need a site that I can keep up myself. Even though the designer will help me do the set up, I’ll need to learn how to keep it fresh. So nope, no major bells and whistles for me!
Hi Nina,
Content is the easy part. Good content keeps people coming back. I have used several different commenting systems including the Native WP system, DISQUS, CommentLuv and Livefyre.
I just moved back to Livefyre from CommentLuv last month and I really like it. It is free, it is easy and they are making some cool changes in the coming system that I really like. I think it is a great tool for comments.
I use Genesis with the Prose child theme. In my experience Genesis has been much easier to use than Headway and Thesis.
Don’t be afraid to experiment. There are a lot of resources out there. I like Best Blogging Tips online among others.
Don’t forget to look into ways to back up your site because it is possible to lose everything. Frankly it is possible with WordPress.com too, but you have more options with WP.org.
The idea of losing everything scares me!!! I will definitely learn what I need to know about backing it all up. Thank you. And thanks for the other tips too.
It is a scary leap. As you know, I just made the switch from hosted to self-hosted. And it is a bit daunting. But worth it.
I like clean, uncluttered sites without ads (if possible). I also like easy to use. Mostly, I love what you have to say and that’s what keeps me engaged.
What did you end up using for your framework? or theme? I don’t even know what word I’m supposed to use.
Hi Nina!
I think you’ll love self-hosted once you get going. You’ll have so much power (mwhahaha)! The only sad part for me (as we’ve discussed before) was losing followers when I left WordPress.com. But, thinking back, I should have done a lot more ‘PR’ about my switch before I moved over so readers were not taken by surprise quite so much. And you’ve started that already, so you should be good to go!
Do let me know if you have any questions — I’m happy to help (and have wasted wayyyy too much time trying to figure things out to let them go to waste).
Some people have told me they were able to transfer the followers . . . ?
Ooo let me know if you find out how! The only way I could figure out to do it was to copy and paste them one by one into an Excel doc and then upload them. You’d likely need to get them to opt-in again after that, but I’m not certain.
Good luck with your move! I went from Blogger to WordPress.com to my own domain (with a WordPress template), and the last one is the one I’m the happiest with, by far. The autonomy is wonderful, especially since you can add whatever widgets and plugins you want. And as for designs, it’s not too bad. There are tons of templates out there, either for cheap or free.
The site looks great, Caryn. Just went to check it out.
Hey Nina! I switched a couple of years ago from wp.com to .org so I could use ads. I’m not making anything however because I don’t have a ton of traffic. But YOU! You should do great. One thing you might be able to do since you have such a great following is to approach advertisers yourself.
What I love about your blog is the variety of topics but most of all-you. I feel like I am sitting down with a great group of gals (you and all of your commenters) for a cup of coffee (or wine depending when I read your posts!) and having a great talk. I love it.
I like your design because it is simple and easy to navigate. I know who Nina is right away and what you blog about. I can’t wait to see the new design but don’t change too much. What you are doing is totally working!
LY (Love ya!),
Hal
Thank you so much Hallie! I love your blog for all those same reasons. Really! I really don’t plan to change the content . . . just want something that is more me and MINE and less generic. I also could stand to learn a thing or two about messing around with the pictures, etc. Though for sure content is king.
Good luck with the change! Can’t comment on ads or sponsored posts as I’ve not ventured into that, either, but my business blog is wordpress.org and I’ve been happy with it. I customized a template I found online and it works for me! I don’t do advertising there, either, unless you count the entire blog as one big advertisement for my business.
I read because I like your writing style, and for the short while I’ve been a follower, I enjoy the content! I am pretty sure I stumbled upon you because I was searching for other local bloggers.
I would love for all of us Twin Cities bloggers to get together some time! We can have our own little non-conference conference. I toyed with the idea of going to BlogHer in August, but my husband and I decided we needed a trip for the two of us. Not that we’ve planned anything!
A local get together would be a lot of fun!
I have seen you on twitter, but just had a chance to peruse your site. Your transition intrigued me as I am in transition from blogspot to wp.org as we speak!
Now, 20 minutes later, I so enjoy your style! Your content is straight-forward and no fluff and I like that when I am trying to figure out social media terminology and etiquette.
I will be watching your transition… good luck!
And I will be watching yours!
Good luck, Nina! I’m so excited to see what you come up with and have no doubt that it will be fabulous!
Good luck on the remodel, Nina! I’ve nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award! Congrats!
http://wp.me/p2cqTL-iC
Thanks Michelle!
It will be fun for you to add a little more personalization to the look of your blog. If you plan on doing ads, make sure you understand that some(BlogHer for instance) require you to put the ad in a prominent spot, at the top and it can take away the look you are going for.
As for content, you are already doing a great job. I love your ease in getting discussions going.
Thank you, Michelle. And I’ve noticed that about BlogHer so I don’t plan to go that route. Really, I’m not sure I’ll host ads at all, but for sure don’t want the kind that take up the whole sidebar. No way!
What keeps me coming back? Love the variety of topics and your writing voice. Also, the discussions are great (even if I’m feeling a little shy and don’t want to comment). I love how you engage your readers.
Overall, I feel at home when I visit
I’d like to see more frequent posts (I know, that’s a toughie).
I’d like to see less of other blogger’s posts. That one’s tough because, in the end, I enjoy the posts and meeting a new bloggers BUT feel a little jilted because I missed out on a post from you.
Good luck! Hope all goes well.

Selena,
I thought about this all day. Thank you so much for the honest feedback. Sometimes I want to post more than once a week, but I’m truly very sensitive (perhaps oversensitive) about overwhelming anyone’s inbox, Facebook feed, twitter feed, etc. I want to always add something to someone’s week and not be a source of irritation. It’s a delicate balance in an internet world where so many of us are vying for readers.
As for guest posts . . . I actually don’t have any scheduled for the rest of the year except one from my husband!
Totally get it… I’m just being greedy
Hubby as a guest writer? Now that’s interesting! Can’t wait. I really liked your mum’s post.
I just learned how to build a wordpress site in .org, which is the self hosted. I LOVE it and there are so many more options. I haven’t yet switched my blog over yet. But I switched my work website over (www.leahrsinger.com). I’m not techie and it was not hard. Message me if you want to learn more.
It looks great! (I remember when it first went up.) Going to email you now . . .
I agree with the above comment that you aren’t a “mommy blog” but you are a mommy who blogs! I appreciate that about your posts. I like that your posts are varied & they can range from professional to parental to down-right funny!
…although I will say, I do LOVE to read other parents’ perspectives (especially when it comes to writing/reading) so any “family” oriented posts are always appreciated. Happy transition & best of luck!
Thanks, Lindsey. I definitely have had a few comments hinting at more parenting posts. I have plenty to say on the topic . . . I think I’ll do some more!
